Conscious Empowerment for the Gulf Coast
An important new show on Empower Radio hosted by Wendy Garrett
Catastrophic events force us to grow beyond what we have claimed as our limits. The current crisis, disaster, catastrophe in the gulf coast has forever changed that area. Weather will continue to alter the dynamic of the coastal region and most likely force some to relocate to find work. Others may locate there to help with cleanup.
Whatever the longterm impact, the short term is a giant mess. Where we can redistribute human populations, our methods with nature are more complicated, and again, less productive in the short term. There is no quick fix for this. Humans can choose to relocate. Animals aren't so lucky. Plants, same deal. This was their house. That house is no more. Nature is SOL.
What can we do to avoid such future scenarios? Can we change our consumption habits? Do we have alternatives: material and in how we view our resources.
We have one planet. Someone will live with the legacy of our missteps. We CAN change now. The changes are physical and metaphysical: mind, body, spirit. Who is part of the solution and that new world view? Listen and maybe we can find that out or, at the very least, contribute to that element by connecting a few dots.
The goal of my show is to offer opinions and content that focuses on solutions rather than criticism. I welcome those who can add to that equation.
Presenting: Conscious Empowerment for the Gulf Coast.
Love, light and blessings to you,
Wendy Garrett
Conscious Empowerment - Recap The best news to come out of the gulf coast catastrophe is the presence of an oil devouring microbe that has apparently been at work since the beginning and is making headway on plowing through the toxic stuff. Present due to the presence of oil already in the area as a result of other leaks and spills. You'll find the most current info on Deepwater here. [Click here to Listen]
Conscious Empowerment - Fish & Wildlife Service What are the long term programs coming on line to measure and address the magnitude of the environmental impact of the oil spill? Hear Gary Peeples and Kim Trust with the Fish and Wildlife Service talk about the Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration process. The work is just beginning. [Click here to Listen]
Conscious Empowerment - Deepwater Horizon Response Bonnie Strawser is on the scene in the Gulf working with Wildlife and serves as Public Information Officer for the Deepwater Horizon Response's Wildlife Operation's Branch. Wendy talks to her about her job arranging media tours of the impacted habitat areas and interviews with those taking care of and assessing the wildlife. Her insight is from one who is working within the operation to create a framework that may help now and in future crisis events. There was no blueprint for this catastrophe because no one anticipated anything of this magnitude. [Click here to Listen]
Conscious Empowerment - The Call of the Land Author Steve McFadden joins Wendy for a wide ranging discussion from the call of the wild, the call of the land, to the call in the Gulf. Learn about the teachings of the south and north as they originate here on Turtle Island (North America), and directly pertain to this stretch of time and world development. From the south direction, we echo the voices of the Maya on the subject of 2012 and the oil spill, and from the north direction we echo the venerable teachings of the Algonquin peoples about the era of the 8th Fire and the health of the land and sea which sustain us all. Steve and Wendy also discuss fusion, the ethers, and their emerging role in the world - plus the healing potential that arise with the agrarian impulses being given creative expression by so many people in North America and around the world. Conscious Empowerment - Red Road Perspective Does Hopi Prophecy play into the events unfolding the Gulf? What does the bigger picture represent in terms of underscoring a need for change if we are to avoid more harmful environmental fallout as a result of our lack of respect for our fragile ecosystem? Wendy speaks with Raven Redbone who hosts a show on Native issues and showcases elders who remind us to seek out the wisdom of indigenous cultures. We are encouraged to value development of stronger community role models and include sacred prayer as a daily practice ... He highlights a list of influential Native Americans worth finding out - learn more at his website or on at Make no bones about it. [Click here to Listen]
Conscious Empowerment - An Introduction - As a former news broadcaster, looking to add a constructive approach toward the BP oil catastrophe in the gulf coast, I wanted to focus on content that avoided criticism and blame and offered proactive and solution based suggestions, dialogue and resources. For those who are not familiar with how I approach my topic and what my agenda may be, this show lays out that information. In future shows, I will address mind programming, conscious lifestyles, environmental awareness, conservation issues, prayer, gulf coast recovery support resources and how to practice conscious creation in daily living. We cannot undo a natural or man-made disaster, but we can benefit in learning to improve our reaction time and create better methods of recovery. We can also take responsibility for choosing our response and develop a mind set that appreciates the fact that some lessons can only be learned through facing our worst nightmares. Conscious Empowerment - Tim Brunson, PhD - With the ongoing barrage of media, good, bad and otherwise on the Gulf Coast Disaster, Tim addresses the power of choice. The power of thought and intention affects our bodies, our minds, and our universe. Current gene research has uncovered the importance of attitude and belief in the health of our cells. Further research into water crystals has recorded the impact of thought on our environment. -- About Dr Tim Bruson -- "I'm a career student who has not only taught at two universities, but I've also constantly gone to school and attended numerous conferences. While I love taking on challenges like learning an additional language or learning to fly helicopters, I have migrated from the business world (and the military where I retired as a Army Reserve Colonel) to the almost full time study of mind-body modalities. I currently have over 2,700 documented hours of training. Also, I have trained under some of the top names (including many authors) in the field." [Click here to Listen]
