October 14, 2011- Ed Feather

Caregivers are the unsung heroes of the cancer world. They take care of us when we are sick, and shoulder a load that to some may seem to hard to bear. Mel sits down with The Carcinista's husband and caregiver Ed Feather. As you may recall Sarah (The Carcinista) passed away in May of this year, just a few short months ago. Hear about cancer from a caregiver's perspective on this episode of The Cancer Warrior.

About Sarah (The Carcinista) Feather:

"I'm a thirty-something, fashion-addicted, gym rat mother of two boys who's healthy as an ox. Oh, except for this little ovarian cancer thing.

Diagnosed in 2006, I've had two major surgeries and seven minor procedures, plus eight rounds of chemo, two biologics and three clinical trials, and that's just up until now. Despite all the fun, I'm working hard at maintaining my energy and my family's normal life, and at looking cute with no hair, someone else's hair, or really short hair. The count of half-used containers of product in my bathroom is entering the mid-twenties.

I'd love to hear from fellow survivors. Sharing info, horror stories, and black humor will help us all get through this, and maybe help someone else get diagnosed sooner and leave us all behind."

For more of Sarah's story and to share your own story visit The Carcinista, ran by Sarah's husband Ed Feather (Mr. Wonderful) who is continuing the work she started to this day.
