When Joanna Isbill was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 2 years ago at the age of 24 she couldn't find any other thryroid cancer survivors her own age, let alone information about the disease. She was fortunate to find Dear Thyroid founded by Katie Schwartz who has graves disease, another thyroid auto immune disease. Now Joanna is one of the main bloggers on Dear Thyroid as well as a moderator on Cancer Connect another great resource for cancer survivors.
Joanna was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in October 2008, her life forever changed. After two surgeries and two treatment doses of RAI, Joanna is still learning how to live side by side with cancer. She has a passion for learning how to use her cancer to help others and lives with the outlook that something as horrific as cancer can eventually be turned into something beautiful. Joanna also enjoys finding the humor in cancer (yes, there’s humor in the midst of this chaos!), and her brothers are great at helping her do that.

Mel Majoros, currently in remission, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. On a lucky break after her cancer surgery she was offered a job as a producer on a local talk sports show in Michigan where she advocates about cancer and other health related topics. During that time she started blogging and her blog www.Thecancerwarrior.blogspot.com has been named one of the top ten breast cancer blogs by blogs.com. She brings a unique perspective to being a survivor, always keeping a positive attitude and an athletes mentality for dealing with cancer and survivorship. Prior to working in radio Mel was a 10 year veteran of the television industry working on such shows as Walker, Texas Ranger and Crossing Jordan.
