Tami Boehmer had a recurrance of breast cancer just a few months after her 5 year cancerversary. One of her doctors told her, “You could live two years or 20 years, but you’ll die from breast cancer.” Undaunted by that she wanted to find other cancer survivors who beat doctors odds to find out how she could do it herself.  Those stories are featured in her book From Incurable to Incredible: Cancer Survivors Who Beat The Odds. Those survivors brought her inspiration and hope. They are miracle survivors.

From Incurable to Incredible features 27 cancer survivors who were given a terminal diagnosis, but shocked everyone by thriving years past their prognoses.  These “miracle survivors” have different cancers and circumstances, but share two things: a poor prognosis and incredible drive to overcome it.

Mel Majoros, currently in remission, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. On a lucky break after her cancer surgery she was offered a job as a producer on a local talk sports show in Michigan where she advocates about cancer and other health related topics. During that time she started blogging and her blog www.Thecancerwarrior.blogspot.com has been named one of the top ten breast cancer blogs by blogs.com. She brings a unique perspective to being a survivor, always keeping a positive attitude and an athletes mentality for dealing with cancer and survivorship. Prior to working in radio Mel was a 10 year veteran of the television industry working on such shows as Walker, Texas Ranger and Crossing Jordan.
