The Chris Draft Family Foundation with Chris Draft

Mel sits down with former NFL player Chris Draft.  Chris founded The Chris Draft Family Foundation.The foundation seeks partnerships with local and national community health organizations, school districts and non-profits across the country, striving to empower and uplift communities by educating and equipping families to make healthier choices, using initiatives such as "Get checked and Get fit" which encourages all family members, not just the survivors to incorporate healthy practices into their lifestyle, including a healthy diet and exercise. 

Chris also started "Team Draft" an initiative inspired by his wife Lakeasha Monique Rutledge Draft who courageously faced lung cancer and passed away a month after she married Chris. 

Team Draft is leading a national campaign to change the face of lung cancer.  Find out more about this inspiring man and his love for his wife that shines through this interview.

About Mel Majoros:

Mel Majoros, currently in remission, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007.  On a lucky break after her cancer surgery she was offered a job as a producer on a local talk sports show in Michigan where she advocates about cancer and other health related topics.  During that time she started blogging and her blog www.Thecancerwarrior.blogspot.com has been named one of the top ten breast cancer blogs by blogs.com.  She brings a unique perspective to being a survivor, always keeping a positive attitude and an athletes mentality for dealing with cancer and survivorship. Prior to working in radio Mel was a 10 year veteran of the television industry working on such shows as Walker, Texas Ranger and Crossing Jordan.
