Lori Bryant-Woolridge is the author of the best-selling novel, Read Between the Lies, published by Doubleday (1999) and nominated for a Golden Pen Award in 2000. She is a contributing author to several top anthologies including: Best Black Women's Erotica (Cleis Press, 2001), the award-winning Gumbo: A Celebration of African-American Writing, edited by best-selling authors, E. Lynn Harris and Marita Golden (Harlem Moon, 2002), and Brown Sugar 3: Opposites Attract (Washington Square, 2004).
Continuing her tradition of writing complex, cleverly constructed page-turners, Ms. Bryant-Woolridge's eagerly awaited second novel, Hitts and Mrs. was released in January 2004 by HarperCollins/Avon and quickly became a #1 Essence bestseller. Her third novel, Weapons of Mass Seduction, was released by Doubleday/Harlem Moon in April 2007 and was selected as the Essence Magazine Book Club pick for May 2007, and led the way for her nomination as a finalist for Storyteller of the Year at the Essence Literary Awards.
She is a fifteen-year veteran of the television broadcast industry, having worked in various production and management positions at the ABC Television Network, Public Broadcasting System (PBS), and Black Entertainment Television (BET), and is the recipient of an Emmy Award for Individual Achievement in Writing (1983). Ms. Bryant-Woolridge is also the cofounder of the Femme Fantastik Tour, a literary tour dedicated to celebrating and empowering women; and the nonprofit organization, Mothers Off Duty, Inc., a group committed to helping teen mothers continue their education. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
She teaches creative writing and often conducts workshops for aspiring authors. Ms. Bryant-Woolridge is also a frequent panelist on a variety of literary topics at various book festivals, conferences, and bookstores around the country. She is also a motivational speaker and the sensuality coach. She and her family live in New Jersey, where she working on several new projects.

As a humanitarian, Teri is dedicated to serving humanity through charitable efforts whenever she can. She is especially drawn to charities that help those in unsavory or unsafe circumstances, overcome their harmful conditions or surroundings, through empowerment and enrichment programs in education, self-care and more.
For over 20 years Teri has followed the teachings of many masters and inspiring leaders, including Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Mother Teresa and The Dalai Lama. She adds that Oprah and Steven Covey have had a tremendous impact on her life. Oprah gives us all hope that we can "become anything" and Steven Covey teaches with an abundance mindset, "There are enough resources and success to share with everyone!"
Today Teri is following the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh through the Detroit Lotus Sanga and is pursuing a course in Intuitive Empowerment and Shamanic Wisdom with Lori Lipten. "Through meditation and mindfulness each and every one of us can connect with our own inner peace, creating an environment of compassion, acceptance, abundance, love - bliss."
