Jane met Glenda through the Beautiful Dying Expo  and was instantly drawn to her
positive attitude. Immediately after Glenda retired from the USAF she went into
the death industry to assist other’s in the education of preplanning and
getting their wishes in writing. Glenda knows firsthand how stressful a sudden
death can be, especially when the loved one who has departed doesn’t have
their affairs in order. Glenda will share what tragic event happened that drew
her to the death community, and what she believes will help each of us when the

Glenda Villegas is originally from Rockville Indiana where she grew up on a
small family farm. She is a graduate of Indiana State University with a
Bachelors of Science focusing on Computer Information Systems. She served over
twenty years in the Air Force and then went directly into the death industry.
Where she learned to serve families before a time of need, preplanning, and
during a time of need, also known as 'At-Need'. Glenda has been serving families
for six years and says this work is important to her because she knows first
hand what it is like to be on the other side of the arrangement table making
decisions at the worst time, after a death has occurred and no plans in place.
You see Glenda retired from the Air Force in December of 2015 and her father had
a major stroke on January 5, 2016. Which he would never recover from and then
died unexpectedly, with no plans in place and at the age of 66. This was
Glenda's nightmare and she vowed to make a difference in her community so that
in the future families would not go to the arrangement table uneducated and
unprepared like she was when her father died.
Today Glenda works as a Funeral Director educating families about their rights
and assisting families with the necessary paperwork that needs to be in place
when a person dies. She created an education program for funeral directors,
funeral arrangers, death duals and death midwifes. She educates veterans on what
they have and what they still need when it comes to veteran burial benefits. She
speaks publicly and offers training programs for those who are interested in
becoming more informed.
