A Journey of Loss, Healing and Hope with Rosanne Norris

Lee_in_green_sweater._373904538.jpgJane was introduced to Rosanne Norris through Camille Dan’s upcoming Afterlife Anthology Project, due this summer. She is the author of beLEEve, A Journey of Loss, Healing, and Hope, which was ranked number one in several categories, in both the U.S. as well as internationally.  Rosanne share’s her extraordinary journey with Jane in this edition of The Next Room. Rosanne realized early on after her son Lee had died that she could not stay stuck in her grief. She eventually found Helping Parents Heal and now is active with the organization as a Caring Listener and a Shining Light Parent. It’s pure belief and beLEEve with Rosanne Norris this week on the Next Room!

Rosanne__2__633049555.jpgRosanne Groover Norris grew up in Binghamton, NY. She is the mother of five children, with one in spirit. She is also grandmother of six. She considers them all to be her best accomplishment in life.

In January, 2018, her middle, thirty-year-old son, Lee, succumbed to an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, in his home, along with his dog, Buddy. This devastating event left her in a dark despair which she doubted was even survivable.

Rosanne was fortunate to find a wonderful grief counselor right away, but when he passed a few months later, she was left to figure out her new reality herself. She started reading books and listening to podcasts, and was ultimately led to Helping Parents Heal where she is now an affiliate leader as well as a caring listener.

Additionally, she is contributing a chapter to Camille Dan’s upcoming anthology. She is also working on her second book.

Rosanne took part in the recently released documentary, “Rinaldi”, the story of Brazilian afterlife researcher, Sonia Rinaldi, who for over thirty years has brought through images and voices from deceased loved ones in spirit.

“Healing is a conscious choice. It’s hard work, but it can be done.” Rosanne now considers herself a “shining light parent” rather than a bereaved one.

About Jane Asher:

Jane Asher has always been a natural connector who has enjoyed a successful career in media and the music industry, most notably at major radio stations in San Diego and Santa Barbara. Several years ago, she stepped away from terrestrial radio when Empower Radio reached out and asked her to create a show about her passion. The Next Room podcast was born.

Demystifying death daily, she interviews professionals and practitioners from diverse backgrounds about death, dying, grief, beliefs and cultural traditions surrounding the journey we all must ultimately make. The show airs across 11 platforms and has connected her with extraordinary people throughout this community. The Next Room has recently become the official podcast of the Beautiful Dying Expo.

Jane is also passionate about being involved in mission work. She has been part of a team for over five years that has built homes in Tijuana for families in need through Lutheran Border Concerns. She has traveled to El Salvador to feed the homeless, Malaysia to help build a school on Borneo, and Armenia to work with women and children in the small village of Amre Taza. Most recently, she was on a humanitarian mission in the Dominican Republic.

Her book, The Next Room is a story transcending space and time, of a relationship between mother and daughter that grew stronger through death. Written together, by initially enlisting interpretation through a psychic medium, The Next Room takes us on a daughter's journey through learning eternal life lessons on forgiveness, grief, grace, gratitude, and the limitless love of all, God.

Jane lives in San Diego with her husband, Tom. She is now answering her passion-filled purpose and writing daily alongside her puppy and muse, Mamba.
